PRESS RELEASE
9th March 2011
The Sigtec Group today announced that the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has approved Sigtec as an accredited supplier of in-vehicle taxi security camera systems for New Zealand. The camera being offered in response to New Zealand technical specifications was the Sigtec Snapshot Mark.
Sigtec has been involved in the taxi camera industry 15+ years, and in fact supplied the first taxi security camera into the Australian market back in the mid 1990's, when the Western Australian Government originally tendered for cameras to be fitted to the Perth taxi fleet.
Based on Sigtec's complete turnkey solution technology, the Snapshot Camera system is capable of continuously recording interior views in daylight and night conditions along with date & time, registration number stamping of images, GPS data and triggered events.
Sigtec's Managing Director, John Thompson, commented "New Zealand taxi drivers and all commuters can rely on the Snapshot Camera system. Coupled with the high level of support that Sigtec can provide through its network of New Zealand offices, the Snapshot Camera adds to Sigtec's already significant offerings in the New Zealand region", he said. Specifically designed for taxi applications in the New Zealand market, the security cameras are tamper resistant, durable, low powered and rugged enough to be suitable for the taxi application as specified by the NZTA.
